Hey hey friends, long time no chat 👋
As we all know, I’m just a bit obnoxiously obsessed with all things White Label Design. It’s completely understandable once you’ve made the switch. So c’mon, let’s sit down in the corner booth for a few and chat about it ☕
Let’s be real, we’re business owners so WE can make our own rules and make money in our own way that works with whatever life we’ve decided to build. We trade in the 9-5 lifestyle thinking we’ll have more freedom and more time but quickly realize being a business owner requires soooo much more than we anticipated. We start small, feel real accomplished seeing we’re hitting some of our short term financial goals. If you’re anything like me, it eventually unravels into burnout when you realize your work/life balance is non existent and you’re struggling to find time to meet with clients, market and cater to new ones, hit your deadlines, get the work done, and also take care of all the every-day life things at home. It may look a bit like this:
Don’t worry friend, it doesn’t have to be like this for long. With White Label, once you find the right team to collaborate with, a whole new world opens up. You get to focus on what you love the most: design. No more endless client emails, constant calls, desperately following leads, missing out on your kids important events, or having to stay up til 2am to work so that you can be there for them, no more not knowing when you’ll have time to work on your own business. Instead you can be done with the client facing work, streamline your schedule, block out your projects, take time when and where you need, really dive into your creative zone, while also working alongside other designers you can learn and grow from. That’s the sweet spot.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: doesn’t this leave the designer or agency with the hard part? Not really! By hiring you, they’re gaining more flexibility and freedom as well. With you by their side they can focus on enhancing their client experience and truly stepping into their CEO role. They can spend more time on marketing, business development, and even creating passive income streams. You’re both helping each other build a stronger business that’s more fulfilling that it was before. It’s seriously a win-win!
I’ve worked with a bunch of different designers in different stages with different reasons for hiring me. Some loathe brand design and want to lean into the web and SEO side more, some are looking to build a large team so they can fully step away from actively designing and be more admin focused. Some designers just need a helping hand every now and then while others may be creatively burnt out and need fresh eyes. No matter their why, you can be their answer.
Here’s the the crema of the latte you’re crafting: You’re building a community, long lasting business relationships, as well as friendships. I have quite a few long standing clients who I’ve worked with for years and we honestly chat all the time. We text each other, we send random voice notes back and forth when we need to vent, we pray for each other, and we support each other.
There’s something so special about the friendships I’ve built with my clients that I’m beyond thankful for every day. We’re focused on working together in a way that benefits us all in our unique journeys to build our dream businesses and lives. As an entrepreneur, we need the community to feel less alone, we need to have and be that support.
Success as a White Label designer is achievable—it’s fun and it’s flexible. You don’t have to be a 1:1 designer working alone and wearing all the hats. You don’t have to be an agency owner building a big team to be successful. You can pivot to white label and support other designers or just add it into your business for the slow seasons. We can all achieve success together in our own way, there’s no rules here.
Actually I lied, there is one rule. And that’s to give it your all, your very best at every step. The hardest thing for a designer to do is trust someone else with their business and their clients. They have to trust us, to know that we will treat their business like it was our own. It’s our job to be reliable, to be trustworthy, to meet our deadlines and give our best effort always. It’s important to understand that you’re part of a team and being teachable and responsible are big parts of your success.
So if you’re thinking about adding White Label services into your business model you don’t have to go it alone. You don’t have to start from the bottom and blindly stumble your way to the top like I did. And believe me, at times I felt like the drunk friend at a party not knowing where the bathroom was 😅
If you’re curious about how to start your journey as a white label designer and want to learn more, I’m here to help. Let’s create a thriving business together, trust me, the possibilities are endless!
