There’s just something so undeniably magical about the rich aroma. The sense of accomplishment that fills me when the perfect roast is paired with the right amount of caramel. My love obsession with coffee has moved past just the mere enjoyment and energy that it brings. It’s honestly enveloped most of my life, evidenced by all the frothy coffee puns laced throughout the copy on my website and the vibes of my personal branding.
So it comes as no surprise that at the top of my brand bucket-list was ‘COFFEE SHOP’ in big fat, underlined letters. The catch though was that I primarily White Label for other design agencies who focus on photographers, the wellness space, coaches, podcasts, authors, etc. Coffee shops didn’t quite fit in with any of my clients ‘niche’. At least, I didn’t think so until my girl Tatum (owner of the oh-so-wonderful Brandt Creative Co.) came to me with a new project that set my heart on fire.
Enter Pinup Coffee Co. A veteran-owned small-batch coffee roaster from Virginia Beach, VA. Here’s a quick lil background on them: Pinup Coffee Co. is a specialty coffee roaster driven by passion and integrity. It is our company’s mission to bring people together over great coffee, from the farmers to the drinkers, and rid the notion of exclusivity around incredible coffee.
I said yes to this project SO fast. The coffee, the military connection, the fact that they’re located in a place I visit once every year, it all came together. Their vision for their branding was so straight-forward, their mission so clear. Working with Tatum on their project went beyond smooth and was everything I could have ever dreamed of and MORE.
We threw everything at them, and I mean everything.
This project was a true labor of love. I enjoyed every second I spent creating this brand for these amazing people under the Brandt Creative Co. umbrella. Sometimes a project comes along that speaks to you, puts the air back in your lungs, puts the giddy in your up. This was that project and I am forever grateful to Tatum for hiring me way back in 2020 so that one day we could create this together, thank you my fierce friend.
This past March I went down to VA Beach as I do each year for a local women’s conference and I had the immense pleasure of meeting the Pinup team! They DM’d me before my trip and we set up a time for me to come tour the roastery, buy some merch, watch the process, and meet the team. I had a blast and made some new friends, check out some pics from that kewl moment:
If you’re a coffee lover like me and want to support a small, veteran-owned roastery you can check them out at www.pinupcoffeeco.com. Personally, I signed up for their monthly subscription where they send you a new roast each month perfectly sized for your coffee maker of choice, mine being a Chemex. I’m not affiliated with them in any way and won’t get any kick-backs if you buy from them, I just recommend them to anyone and everyone for all time. If you do purchase from them, keep an eye out for new packaging in the future 😉
